　　在艺术世界，“街头”和“殿堂”的概念往往就一线之差。纽约的涂鸦艺术家们由下里巴人晋升成阳春白雪，已不是街头文化的第一次尝鲜。早几年，摇滚被业界招安，半只脚踏进了艺术门槛。而养在街角旮旯里的嘻哈文化（hip hop）于上世纪70年代诞生在纽约的黑人、拉丁社区，一熬就是30年，随着其在音乐、视觉、时尚诸多领域渐行风靡，嘻哈也终为艺术业界所关注，完成了其大范围的全球输出。
　　一般认为，嘻哈文化由四大元素组成：MC（饶舌）、DJ、涂鸦和霹雳舞。其中MC借着90年代饶舌音乐的东风和电影《8 mile》的热映已成了嘻哈音乐的形象代表；而DJ撑起了嘻哈音乐骨架，以Scratch为标签式技术，嘻哈音乐进而演化出了Turntablism等试验性强的分支。
　　互动讲座《Hip hop30年》将邀请DJ V-Nutz和Lab的成员讲嘻哈音乐、教授DJ打碟技艺。

主讲人简介：DJ V-Nutz在上海玩了7年hip hop，技术精道，算是圈中老手。早年在日本的留学生活让他浸淫在hip hop和街头文化之中。1999年，他从带着一套turntable和几箱木胶唱片回到上海。次年他在DKD的hip hop演出就曾经让人眼前一亮。2002年，他作为中国区冠军参加了DMC的伦敦总决赛。第二年他又获得DMC中国区第二名，并参与组织了04年的DMC中国区比赛。DJ V-Nutz的乐风融合了hip hop、疯克、爵士乐等等，其混音cd《Funkbeatamin》在日本卖出1千多拷贝。此外，他还将参与组织了DJ Kid Koala 、Roli Rho、DJ J-Smoke、 DJ Kentaro、DJ Dopey等在上海的演出。
Lab是一个音乐工作室，亦是一个非营利的社区平台，为DJ、MC、涂鸦等艺术的爱好者们提供创作、活动的空间。

Once originated in the Afro-American and Latino communities New York in the early 1970s, hip hop has landed a gigantic commercial and artistic success following the previous triumphant cases as rock’n’roll. 　　Hip hop is believed to be composed of four indispensable elements, namely, MC (rapping), DJ, graffiti and b-boy (a.k.a. breakdance). For hip hop music, MC (the master of ceremonies) is now playing a most visible role thanks to the boom of rap music in the 1990s and the release of film 8 mile. Though DJing exits in many genres of music, hip hop has renovated the DJ technique with its distinctive introduction of scratching. In the 1990s, a more experimental subgenre turntablism surfaced, emphasizing the art of manipulating sound and creating music via turntables and mixers, which pushed hip hop DJing to a new high.
　　This workshop What Makes It Hip, chaired by DJ V-Nutz and Lab crew, explores the evolution of hip hop culture – mainly on the music aspect – over the past three decades and teaches the skills of hip hop DJing.

Profile: Gary Wang, a.k.a. DJ V-Nutz, started DJing in 1999, the year he came back to Shanghai with a set of turntables and several cases of vinyl. Before that he prowled the streets of Shibuya working in hip hop stores and absorbing as much of the culture as he could. The Shanghai native got his first regular hip-hop gig at Club DKD in 2000 and made it the most successful event in town.
　　As the first China DMC champion, he represented China in London at the world championship in 2002.He took 2nd place at DMC China 2003 and co-organized DMC China 2004.
　　DJ V-Nutz has seen his scratch skills grow year on year while at the same time branching out to mix all kinds of music such as funk, soul, jazz, latin, breaks, brazilian beats and jazz crossover. His “Funkbeatamin” Mix Cd has been sold 1,000 copies in Japan.
　　Through promoting and organizing events with underground hip hop and breakbeats greats, he also responsible for bringing some of the best club nights to China: Roli Rho ( 5th platoon NYC), DJ J-Smoke (Allies) DJ Kentaro (2002 DMC World Champion), DJ Dopey (2003 DMC World Champion), DJ Kid Koala (Ninja Tunes), Ugly Duckling, DJ Uppercut (Japan) and DJ Sen (Japan), DJ Shortkut (Beatjunkies), Grand Master Roc Raida, DJ Revolution, 2005 DMC World DJ Championship China Final.

The Lab is a music production studio and non-profit community platform rolled into one. The lab is a place for dedicated urban creators to collaborate and develop their skills – whether they be DJ, MC, graffiti artists, live musicians or beyond. Regular events and ongoing programs will be held.
The Lab is located on 5F343 Jiaozhou Road.
 
 
朱屺瞻艺术馆是以中国当代著名书画大师朱屺瞻先生命名的一座公立美术馆，1995年建成开馆。走过十年创业之路，本馆将以“传统创新、现代经典与当今视觉”为学术定位，并以“传承历史文脉、创新现代经典、培养艺术新锐”为办馆理念。它既是收藏、陈列与研究朱屺瞻先生书画艺术的专门机构，也是开展国内外传统与当代艺术交流的重要窗口，履行中小型艺术博物馆的功能。
